Deadline for building owners to install rainwater harvesting
In spite of water crisis Tamil Nadu government has given 3 months deadline to the residential owners to set up approved rain water harvesting, or else they will be punished legally. In a legal survey government has found 5 lakhs building without (RWH) and so in a review meeting municipal administrator S.P. Velumani insists them to install (RWH). He also discussed about the committed which work under this with send a notice to the premises area within a weak.
A survey results among 2.35 lakhs building 1.36 buildings have already installed that and they need some maintenance. The remaining buildings should be instructed to do the further action within October.
Arapor Iyyakam member Jayaraman Venkatesan advised government to give awareness to the people about this and help them by providing call centers forsaking queries. He added that building completion certificate should be given only if it has (RWH). He concluded with “it is the responsibility of each and every citizen to do that.
